We
set off from Boscastle at 10am. after I'd taken many pictures of the area
on an idyllic morning.
The climb out on the B road was steady.
After
that a fairly level run though the grey slate village of Delabole, and
then we descended down through St.Kew to join the A39 for a couple of
miles into Wadebridge ( planned route was Padstow, but I had thoughts
about the traffic and tourists in Padstow so decided to opt for Wadebridge)
Wadebridge was busy too, packed with people on hired bikes, - we felt
very out of place without a hitch up trailer!
We had picnic lunch in the main street, and then took the lane through
the back of the Royal Cornwall Showground to join the main road again.
The bulk of the traffic seemed to be turning off to Padstow, so we stuck
with the fast section of A39 for 5 miles before turning off through St.Columb
and heading through the lanes.
